Harrowing visuals from the mortuary in Delhi’s LNJP Hospital show bodies of the deceased being piled one on top of the other. The mortuary can hold 45 bodies at a time, however with the rising death toll in the national capital amid the Coronavirus pandemic. The disturbing visuals show 108 dead bodies from last week at the mortuary which could not be accommodated as per its present capacity. Many have expressed regret over the apathy of the government and medical staff in their dealing with the issue. The hospital authorities have said the cause for the poor maintenance and the unfortunate situation is the refusal of cremation grounds to take in more bodies.
