Enjoy watching tenor Gavan Ring and pianist Gary Beecher perform a programme of well-known operatic arias by Puccini, Mozart and Gounod plus favourites such as Schubert’s Ave Maria, Leoncavallo’s Mattinata and De Curtis’ Torna a Surriento, all instantly recognisable and guaranteed to offer something for every audience. In this concert recorded behind closed doors in the beautiful setting of St Peter’s Church of Ireland, Drogheda, Gavan and Gary will bring these songs alive and directly in to your home.
Two musicians of high calibre, Cork pianist Gary Beecher has had a varied career as a song accompanist, chamber musician and soloist. He has been hailed by the Belfast Telegraph as a “subtle, sophisticated player with a maturity of both technique and interpretive outlook”. A proud Kerryman, Gavan Ring now resides in Carlingford. He began his singing career as a baritone with rich and glorious colours but began to notice new and different tones and last year made the successful transition to the tenor register. He was recently described by Opera Magazine as having “The agility of a gymnast and the vocal command of a sergeant major“.
