PROGRAMME NOTE

As suggested by the title, the music carries the characteristic rhythm of the Habanera dance and reflects an impression to the popular Spanish-American style. This piece requires a cohesive ensembleship, while allowing for a degree of improvisation and technical display among individual performers. The main theme had gone through different modulation and transformation before the music concluded with a fast-moving passage.
