The name “Ozakwaaba” creatively represents the groups’ intent to Welcome all to the Ozarks, just as the Ozarks has also welcomed all to it’s majestic natural beauty (Ozarks + ‘Kwaaba’ or welcome). The lively band is dedicated to keeping Afro-pop, Reggae, West and South African music alive in NW Arkansas. Ozakwaaba skillfully performs cover songs and originals. If you are looking for a truly unique musical experience, full of talented individuals maturely and professionally expressing their craft, join us for this virtual event!

This program is part of Lift Every Voice: Why African American Poetry Matters, a national public humanities initiative of Library of America presented in partnership with The Schomburg Center for Research in Black Culture with generous support from The National Endowment for the Humanities, The Andrew W.
