That was a successful first ‘Open Park ’20 concert / rehearsal’.
We got to meet and talk with a lot of new people, we got to see the sunset from Science World, and then, there was this surreal moment as this suave gentleman came walking up and dropped a wad of cash on us (sur-real), without a skipping a beat. Family, friends know I’m not impressed with ‘money’…still will confess, it is definitely interesting being told by someone (not related to us) they like our music – that much, instantly. It’s also odd to think someone just walks around with loose cash like that.
Fyi, a hello, and hand shake, and maybe a ‘good job,’ only if you’re feeling it, is just as appreciated with us – really. If you happen to find our page though (mr. money man)…thank you, again for ‘the first.’ Cool.
I think most (artists?) know we don’t do it for the money; we spend way more than we receive (monetarily) to convince ourselves we are doing it for the money. The True Rewards (&There Are Many) Are Intangible, and I will say the most Powerful moment (for me), thus far, was a young boy (wide-eyed & loving our music) after our performance, asking for our album, and autograph (Caribbean Days Festival ’18). Knowing you are inspiring another (younger person even) to think Love, and Independently — that’s a Priceless Feeling.
We rehearsed till fingers were aching, and left :). All in all wonderful evening – Thank Goodness.
We hope you’ll join us for the next one.
